Found a way to be 'slim'

Some people don't get fat even if they eat as much as they want. Stay dry or thin without exercising. It does not increase their weight. On the other hand, there are some people who get fat even after eating measured food. Regular exercise and sweating can not bring weight to the bag. Researchers are going to give good news to
them. They recently discovered a gene that is thinner.

Members of the international research team are listening to hope. The newly discovered gene, they say, could open up new possibilities for the treatment of obesity or fat reduction.

Preliminary information about the research was published in the journal 'Cell' on Thursday.

Researchers say that the unique version of this gene for people who are thin or underweight is called the 'ALK' gene. This gene makes a type of protein called 'anaplastic lymphoma kinase' which is associated with cell growth.

The researchers identified this version of the gene by analyzing the medical data and DNA samples of more than 47,000 healthy people aged 20 to 44 in Estonia.

Joseph Peninger, director of the Institute of Life Sciences at the University of British Columbia and professor of medical genetics, said: “Estonian biobanks are unique in terms of detailed research. We compare the genetic map of people with a body mass index (BMI) of less than 18 with those of normal weight. It shows that there is a relationship between the genetic version to be thin.

Researchers studied rats and fly to understand how the LK gene works.

Stephen O'Reilly, director of the Department of Metabolic Diseases at the University of Cambridge, said the study was not final but was extremely interesting. Therapeutic strategies for the treatment of obesity will surely increase the interest in the AKL-6 version.

Researchers say that scientists already know that ALK is a mutated form of a gene and that special proteins work to create cancerous tumors. They are found in lung cancer or brain cancer. A new study has found that a different mutation in the gene may play a role in preventing thinning and weight gain. Evidence of this has been found in research on rats and flies. Researchers also removed the gene and found thin rats and flies.

Researchers in rat studies have shown that the gene directs fat tissues to burn more fat from food.

Researcher Penninger said the discovery of the gene could help medical scientists fight obesity in the future. It is now a fact that researchers can see if it is possible to stay lean by shutting down ALK or reducing the effectiveness of ALK. It is already being used to treat cancer, and doctors may consider using it to reduce fat in the future
